Obituary of Georgene M. Reynolds

Georgene M. Reynolds, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on MondayDecember 18, 2023, at the age of 80. Born to George and Dorothy Emery in Woburn, where she grew up, Georgene graduated from Woburn High School and pursued secretarial school.

While in Woburn, Georgene formed a lifelong friendship with Marsha, Tim,Rosie and Midge,which Midge introduced her to her future husband, Richard. Their union in 1962 marked the beginning of a beautiful family legacy. Georgene initially worked as a secretary before discovering her true calling as a mother.

Georgene and Richard, after settling in Burlington in 1968, created a haven in their forever home where they welcomed not only their own children but also grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Georgene's unwavering dedication to her family defined her existence. Her home was a sanctuary, and she was the heart that kept it beating.

Always vigilant and caring, Georgene nurtured her children and grandchildren, ensuring they felt secure and loved. Known affectionately as "Mum" and "Papa," the Reynolds household became a warm gathering place for friends and family alike.

Georgene and Richard (Mum & Papa) took annual summer trips to Hampton beach creating cherished memories with her family and despite her aversion to flying, Georgene ventured beyond her home. She even embarked on a road trip to Georgia, to see one of here grandsons graduating from being and Army Ranger, guided by her son Rick, demonstrating her supportive nature.

Georgene's love extended beyond her immediate family; she maintained close connections with friends through Facebook. Her leisure time was filled with laughter and shared moments,often eating Chinese food, with Marsha and Tim.

She never missed a Hockey Game, Dance recital, birthday, graduation, or anything to do with her family.

Other times loving just staying in watch here TV shows like Days of Our Lives, which she faithfully followed for 50 years.

Georgene was the beloved wife of the late Richard Reynolds. She was the loving mother to Robin Morgan of Groton, Richard E. Reynolds and his fiancé Maureen Petrone, Gary Reynolds and his wife Elisa, Amy Reynolds, and Jennifer Reynolds, all of Burlington, and the late Dorothy Ann Reynolds. Georgene was the caring grandmother to Donald, Jonathan, Michael, Caitlin, Michelle, Shane, Adam, Samantha, Valerie, William, John, Jessica, Gabrielle, Cameron, Ava, Ali, and Gavin. She was the treasured great-grandmother to Hunter, Colton, Cameron, Brayden, Madison, Greyson, Raegan, Tanner, Carter, Logan, Athena, and Lucy.

Georgene’s life will be celebrated with a visitation at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803 on Friday, December 22, from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 23, at 10 AM at St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, MA 01801. Friends and Family are invited to gather at the Sullivan Funeral Home at 9 AM before the funeral mass. Burial will be private.
