Sandra "Sandy" A. (Truscello) Cannon, age 61, passed away on Friday, May 29, surrounded by her loving family. She was the adoring wife of William "Bill" J. Cannon, with whom she shared 38 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 4, 1965, she was one of five children born to the late Louis and Ramona (Church) Truscello. Sandy was raised in Arlington Heights and graduated from Arlington High School with the Class of 1983. She met the love of her life, Bill, in 1979 when they were just freshmen in high school. Their young romance quickly blossomed into a lifelong love story, and after graduation and a few years saving up for the wedding, the two married and settled down in Chelmsford.
Immediately following her graduation, Sandy dove headfirst into her career. A deeply driven and hardworking woman, she wasted no time pursuing her dream of business ownership, opening her own nail salon, Classic Nails. She proudly owned and operated the salon for nearly 15 years.
Her new role with A& F Bus Co. in Billerica, MA allowed her to spend precious time with her sons, Billy and Christopher, during their younger years. She later on worked for the Arlington School System. Sandy worked hard while the boys were in school and devoted herself just as wholeheartedly to them when they returned home. As a mother, she was always present, endlessly loving, and willing to sacrifice anything for her children. She possessed a strong moral compass and quietly instilled those same values in her sons through both her words and her example. In countless ways, she taught them what it meant to be kind, responsible, and devoted to family and friends.
In her free time, Sandy enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved trips to Sullivan's on Castle Island for a lobster roll, evenings out to dinner, and spending time with the close-knit group of friends she had cherished since high school. At home, she found happiness relaxing with Bill and the beloved German Shepherds who were part of the family through the years—Amber, Lexi, and Layla.
Sandy was also an exceptional cook whose meals brought family and friends together. Whether it was her famous stuffing, baked ziti, shrimp scampi, or countless other family favorites, everything she prepared was made with love and always enjoyed by those gathered around her table. She proudly hosted Thanksgiving each year, creating an unforgettable spread for everyone to enjoy. Holidays were marked by her incredible cooking, warm hospitality, and dedication to making every occasion special. She worked tirelessly planning memorable Fourth of July celebrations and always looked forward to spending Christmas weekend at Woodward's in Lincoln, New Hampshire with those she loved most.
Above all else, Sandy was a kind, loving, determined, and devoted woman. Family and lifelong friends were the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to creating cherished memories with those she loved. The values she lived by and the love she shared touched countless lives and will continue to be carried forward by her family. She will be remembered always for her unwavering devotion to her loved ones, her generous spirit, and the warmth and joy she brought everywhere she went.
Along with her adoring husband, Bill, Sandy is survived by her two cherished sons, William L. Cannon and his fiancée Danielle Pintone of Burlington, and Christopher J. Cannon of Burlington; her sister, Patricia Schwab of Richlands, NC, along with many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Sandy was the dear sister of the late Louis “Ricky”, Robert, and William Truscello.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, June 6th from 2 pm until 5 pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 5 pm. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy’s honor may be made to Tunnels to Towers.
