Roberto DiDonna, a longtime Burlington resident and former owner of Roma's Bakery in Woburn, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday, March 1, 2006. He was 71 years old.
Mr. DiDonna was born and raised in Torre Del Greco Italy. He was the son of the late Raimonto and Leonilde DiDonna. Mr. DiDonna married his wife Rita while still living in Italy and together they moved to the United States to start a life together.
Mr. DiDonna started working as a Baker when he was just 14 years old. After moving to the United States he worked for Mike's Pastry in Revere and Esposito's in Boston before opening his own business in Woburn Center, Roma's Bakery. Mr. DiDonna was a hard working man whose priority in life was to provide for his wife and five children.
Mr. DiDonna is the husband of Rita (Miele). He is the loving father of Raymond & his wife Joanne of Billerica, Hilda DiDonna of Burlington, Maurizio of Burlington, Enzo & his wife Maria of Lynn, and Massimo & his wife Cindy of Weare, NH. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and family members still residing in Italy. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, March 4 at 8 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy's Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Roberto's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Former owner of Roma's Bakery in Woburn.
