Obituary

Paul McGinn, 89, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, surrounded by the love of his family, exactly where he wanted to be.

Born in Worcester, Paul was one of six children of the late Francis and Marie (Asselin) McGinn. He was raised and educated in Worcester and attended St. Peter's Catholic School, where he developed the values that defined his life: faith, humility, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Paul was the kind of man who didn't talk much about sacrifice, he just lived it every day. A tireless worker and devoted provider, he did whatever it took to support his family. Over the years, he worked at Raybestos, Harrington's Exxon Station, T & J Towing, various construction roles along with dedicating 28 years to Raytheon. No matter the job or the hours, his purpose never changed,  his family came first.

He found joy not in extravagance, but in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Paul loved being with his family, fishing, going out to eat, watching NASCAR, or cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox. He had a soft spot for classic war movies and Westerns, and he rarely missed a chance to sit down and enjoy one.

What truly set Paul apart was his desire to help others, especially his family.  He was always the first to show up when someone needed help, especially his daughters. Whether it was fixing something, building something, or figuring it out as he went, he never turned down a request. Alongside his beloved wife, Mary, he helped care for his grandchildren in their early years and then after school, forming bonds that meant the world to him.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy, the center of his world. Some of the best memories were being together as a family, creating moments filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Paul was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary E. (Bennett) McGinn, as well as his siblings Bernadette Galvin, Francis McGinn, Vincent McGinn, and Ann Hackenson.

He leaves behind a family who will carry his legacy forward with pride: his daughters, Mary Ellen Kilfoyle and her husband Ken of Burlington, Allyson Bullock and her husband Randy of Burlington, and Teresa McGinn of Burlington; his brother, Richard McGinn of Holden; and his six grandchildren, Kenny Kilfoyle, Paul Kilfoyle, Matthew Kilfoyle, Joshua Bullock, Lindsay Bullock, and Bennett Bullock. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
