Ottavio David Viglione of Burlington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on May 2nd at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marjorie Viglione also of Cambridge. Ottavio was, above all, a devoted man—supportive, caring, and deeply protective of those he loved, and deeply connected to his faith.

Known for his quiet nature, Ottavio had a gentle way about him, often keeping those around him laughing with one of his signature "dad jokes." His dry humor became part of his charm and a source of true joy that will be dearly missed.

He took great pride in his Italian heritage and cherished the time he spent traveling to Italy with his family. Many summers were devoted to visiting relatives and friends, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations. He especially loved holidays spent together and enjoyed dining out with family for special occasions. Though he often downplayed the importance of his own birthday, he quietly appreciated the love and celebration surrounding it.

A devout Catholic and a truly generous man, Ottavio gave to others without expectation. His kindness, humility, and unwavering love for his family defined his life.

He will be remembered for his generosity, his wit, and the deep, steady love he shared with those closest to him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Viglione and Marjorie Viglione (Caine), and his brother, Coleman Viglione and his wife Sharon.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Gioconda Viglione (Costantino). Is the proud father of Maria Consolo and her husband Jason of Groton, Gerardo Viglione and his wife Sheri of Burlington, Sabrina Viglione and her fiancé Paul Andrews of Burlington. A cherished Nonno of Joshua, Luke, Andrew, Viviana and Juliana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, May 11th from 10 am until 12 pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington.  His Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 pm at St. Margaret's Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington.  Burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.  As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Ottavio's honor may be made to https://gofund.me/19b4bf0db .
