Maureen Mildred (Cummings) Bennet, a resident of Burlington for 58 years passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Wednesday night, September 6, 2023. She was 75 years old. Maureen was born in Cambridge. She was one of four children born to John and Margaret Cummings. She grew up in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She worked as a secretary at RCA in Burlington for over 15 years. After graduating from high school, her family moved to Burlington.
Maureen's life revolved around her family. She was the devoted daughter of John and Margaret. They lived together, she helped care for them as they aged, and did whatever she could to make them happy. Her siblings were always her lifeline. She relied on them, sought their guidance, and could talk about anything with them. She was the proud and indulging aunt. Maureen always went all out for every holiday. She decorated both the inside and the outside of her home for all the major holidays. She enjoyed baking and was always making cakes for friends, neighbors, and anyone else who was kind to her. She enjoyed crocheting as well. Maureen's most favorite thing to do was shopping. She was always on the hunt for a bargain, the perfect accessory, a special gift, or another decoration. She was generous to a fault. The past few years, Maureen has faced many challenges, it gives her remaining family peace that she is once again reunited with her husband, mom, dad, brother, and sister.
