Matthew Abraham Chellar, 79, of Peabody, MA, passed away, surrounded by his family on October 17, 2023.  He was born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka May 25, 1944.  He is survived by his wife Shanti Chellar and sons Sawyer and Sean Chellar.  Matthew lived a full life on 3 continents.  Matthew attended St Patricks, Jaffna and St Henrys Illavalai.  Matthew received Masters degrees in engineering from The University of Moscow, and Northeastern University in Boston.  Mathew settled in Peabody Massachusetts for 34 years.  Matthew retired as an engineer for General Electric Aircraft Engines after 36 years. Matthew was predeceased by siblings William (UK), Edwin (Ireland), Clarence (Sri Lanka), Rita Andrews (UK and Australia), Edward (US), Peter (UK), Bernard (UK). Matthew is also survived by siblings Marcella Ponniah(Canada), George (US) and Shirley Nagendra Souza(UK).
