Mary H. Shwab, age 92, passed away peacefully at Atrium Drum Hill on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Shwab, with whom she had shared many wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing in 2008.
Born in Woburn, MA, on November 25, 1933, Mary was one of four children born to the late Robert and Edna (Dobbins) Harron. During her high school education, Mary met the love of her life, Paul, and the two settled in Woburn to begin their family together. Along the way, Mary also pursued a career as a legal secretary, working for various law firms throughout the years. She truly enjoyed her work and the people and friends she met along the way.
In her free time, Mary loved traveling to Maine whenever she had the opportunity. She and Paul spent many happy days in Boothbay Harbor and Biddeford Pool, where they enjoyed being near the water and, most importantly, spending time together. In later years, Mary continued making trips north, this time to Saco to visit her daughters and grandchildren. She cherished these visits and the lifelong memories she made with family and friends.
Mary was also an avid shopper. Whether browsing the mall or finding something special on QVC, she was always on the lookout for a new addition to her closet. She also loved reading, especially romance novels, and relaxing with her Kindle.
Above all, Mary will be remembered for her loving nature, strong will, and feisty, lovable sense of humor. She brought a special spark to those around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving Mary are her three loving daughters, Paula Shwab of Woburn, Pamela Giordano of Manchester, and Patricia Shwab of Woburn; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Birnstihl and her husband Dan, Jonathan Giles and his wife Jamie, and James Giles; her great-grandson on the way, Jack Paul Giles; her precious “grand-dog”, Beatrice “Bea”, as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary was the dear sister of the late Judith Young, Elizabeth Berndt, and Robert Harron.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, October 24th from 10 am until 11 am at North Congregational Church, 896 Main St. Woburn. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Congregational Church, 896 Main St., Woburn.
