Marjorie A. Walker a woman with a kind and giving heart, passed away after a long illness, on Friday, February 3, 2023.  She was 86 years old. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John J. Grady( Johnny). Marjorie was the daughter of Frederick Rau and Winifred (Coyle).  Her Dad passed when she was an infant and her Mom later married Henry M. Walker who adopted Marjorie when she was seven years old and loved her as his own.  She grew up in Somerville and Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School.  She worked for 10 years as an operator for New England Telephone.  She stopped working at the time of the birth of her first child.  She remained home raising her family and returned to work later in life.  At the age of 50, she went back to school earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.  She then worked as a marketing executive in an advertising firm.

Marjorie was a woman filled with faith and kindness.  She was a member of the Theosophical Society; an organization dedicated to understanding the similarities and differences between all the world's organized religions.  She was also an expert astrologer. She used her chart interpretations to help guide people to live their best lives.  Marjorie was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed biographies and the subject of metaphysics. As a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Woburn, she sometimes served the church as an eucharistic minister.  She was always thinking about others first.  Her children and grandchildren would come home on any random day to find a gift or present sitting on the stairs from Marjorie.  It could be something new or old that she found at a store, flea market, or yard sale that she wanted to share.  She was extremely outgoing, loved people, never met a stranger, and had a circle of friends that continually grew and grew.  Her family and friends will fondly remember her for her genuine caring heart, curiosity, kindness and thoughtfulness that she shared with all those her life touched.

Marjorie was the loving mother of Michele Grady of Waltham, Lynne Ayvazian & her husband Mark of Wilmington, and Michael Grady & his wife Susan of Andover.  She was the sister of Kathleen Walker & her husband Michael Lally of Charlton, Elaine Walker of Malden, William Walker & his wife Dilia of Billerica, and Kathleen Dailey of Malden.  She was the proud "Grammie to Eric & Zachary Ayvazian and Emily & Olivia Grady. She also had numerous cousins and many friends who grew to be family members.

Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St ., Burlington on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral from the Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with a burial in Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.
