Obituary

Marjorie A. (Leombruno) Cappadona, age 90, passed away peacefully in Burlington on Sunday, June 28 with her loving family by her side.

Born in Watertown, MA on June 7, 1936, she was one of 6 children to the late Arcangelo and Regina Leombruno. Marjorie was raised in Watertown.

She later went on to settle down in Burlington, where she became one of the original residents of the Wing Terrace neighborhood. For more than 40 years, she enjoyed a loving community of friends and neighbors, many of whom became like family over the years.

Marjorie first worked as a lunch mother at Wildwood School, a position she truly adored and one that reflected her nurturing spirit and love of community. She later joined MITRE Corporation, where she spent more than 20 years in food services, eventually managing a cafeteria that served employees throughout the organization. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the relationships she built with the many people she greeted and served each day. Her friendly smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness made her a familiar and welcome presence to countless colleagues and patrons over the years.

In her free time, Marjorie enjoyed nothing more than tending to her beautiful yard. She worked tirelessly on the landscaping, meticulously caring for every shrub and flower she planted. Being outdoors and taking pride in her home brought her immense joy and served as her greatest escape. She also enjoyed taking daily five-mile walks and checking in with her beloved neighbors and friends along the way. Staying active was especially important to Marjorie; so much so that she was still mowing her own lawn well into her late eighties.

Marjorie was a woman of deep faith and was devoted to her parish community at St. Malachy's in Burlington. A faithful attendee of the Saturday 4 pm Mass, she could always be found in her usual seat on the right side of the church, surrounded by the friends she looked forward to seeing each week.

In her later years, Marjorie became a beloved member of the Stonebridge at Burlington community. There, she formed many meaningful friendships and found comfort in the companionship of fellow residents who became an important part of her daily life. Whether sharing meals, conversations, or simply enjoying each other's company, these relationships brought her great happiness.

Above all else, Marjorie was an exceptional mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She went above and beyond for the people she loved and always kept them on their toes with her spirited personality and boundless energy. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, first as a mother and later as a grandmother, creating cherished memories filled with love, laughter, support, and generosity. Her unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered always and deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Surviving Marjorie are her loving children, Michael D'Agostino and his wife Kimberly of Wellesley, and Robyn Magnarelli and her husband Joseph of Burlington; her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, and Anthony Magnarelli, and James and Mia D’Agostino, as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Marjorie was the dear sister of the late Christina Casey, Emma Fritz, Arthur Leombruno, Oreste Leombruno, and Louis Leombruno.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, July 6th from 10 am until 11 am at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at St. Malachy Church, 99 Bedford Rd., Burlington. At the request of the family, burial will take place privately. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s honor may be made to People Helping People, 21-23 Murray Avenue, Burlington Ma.
