Maria Fatima de Araujo Almeida (aka Fatinha)

November 23, 1953 - January 20, 2024

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maria Fatima de Araujo Almeida (aka Fatinha), 70, on January 20, 2024. She left us peacefully surrounded by her three daughters, Michelle A. Kyer, Danielle A. Maia, and Giselle A. Almeida.

Fatinha was born on November 23, 1953. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in languages, with a concentration in French, Fatinha exemplified resilience as she worked full-time while raising her three daughters. A dedicated public servant, Fatinha spent 35 years as a tax analyst in Brazil. During her tenure as a tax analyst at Receita Federal in Brazil, Fatinha formed enduring friendships that stood the test of time. Fatinha's circle of friends extended far and wide, from her time at Synquor, where she worked diligently after retiring as a tax analyst, forming many enduring friendships. Her warm and caring nature endeared her to colleagues and associates alike.

Fatinha leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her three daughters, Michelle A. Kyer, Danielle A. Maia, and Giselle A. Almeida. In addition to her daughters, she left behind two grandchildren, Marcos Maia and Davi Maia, who were a source of joy and pride for her. Fatinha's family extends beyond her immediate circle. She is the daughter of Jose Ludigerio da Fonseca and Nair de Araujo Fonseca. Fatinha also welcomed three caring son-in-laws into her family: Paul Kyer, Daniel Maia, and Gustavo Gomes.

Maria Fatima de Araujo Almeida will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her visiting hours will be Sunday, January 28th from 1-4pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. Her funeral service will be private and at the convenience of her family.
