Obituary

Louise A. Griffin, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, at her summer home in Concord, New Hampshire. She was the loving wife of the late Owen Griffin, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing in 2010.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Eva Belle (Faulkingham) Davis. Louise graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1955. Just a year later, she met the love of her life, Owen, and the two were married in 1957.

In 1963, Louise and Owen settled in Holbrook, where they raised their family together. Louise devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother, always doting on her children and ensuring they felt loved and supported. She was a caring, kind, and selfless mother who placed her family above all else. When her children were grown, she returned to the workforce at the Norman Silk Law Firm, where she cherished the friendships she formed with her coworkers and clients.

Louise also worked alongside her husband in his painting company for many years, hanging wallpaper and assisting with interior decorating. She had a remarkable eye for detail and took great pride in creating a warm and beautiful home. Whether decorating a room indoors or tending to her gardens outside, Louise had a talent for making every space feel welcoming and thoughtfully arranged.

After retirement, Louise and Owen fulfilled their dream of moving to Key Largo, Florida. There, they enjoyed countless days fishing in the bayside waters, soaking up the sunshine, and embracing the relaxed coastal lifestyle they loved. They especially enjoyed welcoming their grandchildren to visit, creating treasured memories together, and returning home to spend time with family and friends.

Louise is survived by her loving children, Richard Griffin and his wife Patricia of ME, Kevin Griffin and his wife Elaine of Plymouth, Kathleen Griffin Jean and her husband Brian of Merrimack, NH, and Cyndy Giese of IL; her cherished grandchildren, Nichole Tollefson and husband Tom, Denise Carnes and her husband Larry, Ross Griffin and his wife Sarah, the late Michael Griffin, the late Brian Griffin, Michelle Costello and her husband Matt, Arianna Griffin, Justin Wilcox and his wife Lindsey, and Kristen Wynn; her beloved 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many other dear family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, September 15th from 4 pm until 7 pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 16th  from the Funeral Home at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
