Karen E. Strack

Karen Ellen Sweeney Strack, age 59, passed away peacefully at her home in North Reading, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her adoring family by her side. She was the loving wife of Phillip Strack, with whom she had shared over 24 wonderful years of marriage. Karen loved spending time with her family and was Godmother to several nieces, nephews and family friends. Karen had a passion for photography, always had a positive outlook and was well regarded by everyone she met.

Born in Woburn, MA on August 18,1966, she was one of six children to the late Gerard and Ruth (Desmond) Sweeney.

Along with her husband, Phil, Karen is survived by her five siblings, Patricia Riel and her husband Christopher of Billerica, Gerard Sweeney, Jr. and his wife Shelley of Burlington, Kathleen Casey of Woburn, Carol Woloski and her husband John of Woburn, Sean Sweeney and his wife Timberly of Tewksbury, many nieces and nephews. Karen is also survived by her mother-in-law Roberta Strack and sister-in-law Amy Mingels.

In addition to her parents, Karen was pre-deceased by her brother-in-law Frederick Casey and father-in-law Dean Strack

At the request of the family, all services will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s honor may be made to The American Cancer Society.
