Helen M. Ferguson, a resident of Burlington for 58 years, passed away at the Emerson Hospital in Concord on Monday, October 18, 2010, the wife of the late Leon E. Ferguson, she was 83 years old.
Helen was born and raised in South Boston. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Moras. Helen was a graduate of South Boston High School. In 1946 she married her husband Leon and they settled in Burlington in 1952. Helen's life centered around her family and her home. She enjoyed cooking for her family and took pride in her vegetable garden. She was a talented seamstress both sewing and crocheting. She was famous for her crocheted doll dresses. Family gatherings were an important part of Helen's life whether it was a holiday dinner or a cookout on the Fourth of July. Helen was blessed to live a life the spanned 83 years filled with a loving family.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Leon E Ferguson. Helen was the loving mother of Jeanne Davis & her husband Richard of Littleton, Elaine Lovejoy of Salem, NH and her late husband Thomas, Robert Ferguson & his wife Kimberly of Hudson, NH, and the late Carol Spiczka. Helen is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Oct 22 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret's Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Helen's name may be made to SAC Charities, c/o John Alterisio, 2 Pleasant St., Burlington, MA 01803.
