Haralanbos "Bobby" Zanakos, age 63, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Theodora (Halikias) Zanakos, with whom he shared over 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Athens, Greece, on April 21, 1963, Bobby was the son of the late Panagiotis and Krisoula Zanakos. He met the love of his life, Theodora, when he was just 18 years old at a Greek Festival in Cambridge. It was not long before the two were married and settled in Cambridge, where they began building a life and raising their family together. After many years in Cambridge, they moved to Medford, creating countless memories along the way.

A hardworking and dedicated provider, Bobby owned and operated his own painting and contracting business for many years. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and determination. His commitment to his trade served as an inspiration to those around him, and his passion for contracting became a family tradition carried on through generations.

Above all else, Bobby's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren. When his children were young, he loved taking family vacations, with trips to Greece remaining among their most treasured memories. As his family grew, so did his role as a proud grandfather. He delighted in spending time fishing, sharing laughs, and creating special memories with his grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to his life. He also enjoyed cooking for his family whenever he got the chance. Whether it was holidays, family gatherings, or simple backyard get-togethers, everyone always looked forward to Bobby's famous lamb and barbequing skills.

When he wasn't spending time with his family, Bobby could often be found at the local corner store enjoying a game of Keno or making another cup of coffee from his cherished Keurig machine. At home, he shared a special bond with his daughter's dog, Gucci, who quickly became his constant companion and best friend. Though he often joked otherwise, those closest to him knew just how much he adored the dog. Together, the two kept each other company and ensured Bobby was always up and moving.

Another of Bobby's great loves was his Ram truck. He took immense pride in it, caring for it meticulously and treating it with the same dedication and attention he brought to everything else in life. Above all else, Bobby will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his tireless work ethic, his generous heart, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.

Along with his loving wife, Theordora, Bobby is survived by his three adoring children, Amalia Zanakos and her husband Luis Fernando Doncel of Dracut, Panagiotis Zanakos of Dracut, and Spiros Zanakos and his fiancée Rachel Breen of Dracut; his cherished grandchildren, Bobby Zanakos, Nico Scali, Luis Doncel, Violet Zanakos, and Sonny Zanakos, as well as many other dear loved ones and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 2nd at 10 am at The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Mammoth Rd., Dracut. Burial will immediately follow in Oakland Cemetery, Dracut.
