Obituary

Eleanor P. (Lamothe) Boudreau, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Care One at Wilmington with her loving family by her side.

Born in Biddeford, ME on January 6, 1931, she was one of five children to the late Alfred and Margaret Lamothe.  Eleanor graduated from Biddeford High School with the class of 1948, where she was also a proud drummer in the band.  She spent her younger years growing up in Biddeford, spending time with friends, and working her first job at the local newspaper/convenience store on Main St.

Eleanor moved to Burlington in 1963 and raised her children in a home filled with love, deep rooted faith, and support for one another.  She was a devoted mother, and later grandmother, who took a tremendous amount of joy in seeing them grow and the accomplishments they achieved throughout their lives.  Taking care of the people around her was Eleanor's trademark; she always found a way to make everything about everyone else.  Whether it was just catching up on life, or finding a way to lend a hand in some way, she always was looking to ease the burdens life brought to the people she cared for most.

Upon moving to Burlington, Eleanor became a dedicated communicant of Saint Margaret's Church.  She had a routine every Saturday of attending the 4:30 Mass, then heading right to her daughter's house for "Saturday" dinners that always ended in a rousing game of scrabble or gin rummy.  As she got older, she got involved with the senior center, attending their luncheons and exercise classes, and even started walking the mall frequently with her daughter's mother-in-law, her dear friend Greta Olson.  Traveling also became a frequent pastime, especially when seeing family was involved.  When Eleanor wasn't busy with her adoring family, she could likely be found watching a Red Sox game, making sure to keep close tabs on how her favorite team was doing.

When she was no longer able to attend Mass on Saturday's, Eleanor began watching Mass at least once, sometimes twice, a day.  She also prayed the rosary multiple times a day, and even found pleasure in some of the programs offered on Catholic Television.  She found great strength and solace in her faith, and allowed it to guide her through life.  She was a true testament to what it meant to walk in your faith by the person that she was.  Eleanor will always be remembered for her unending generosity, and the tremendous amount of kindness, love, and compassion she showed to everyone she met.

Surviving Eleanor are her adoring children, Garnet Boudreau of Saco, ME, Jeffrey Boudreau and his late wife Wendy of Saco, ME, and Janice Olson and her partner David DeLisle of Billerica; her cherished grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Julie, Kelly, Kimberly, Ricky, Kristina, and the late Jennifer; her 14 beautiful great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Eleanor was the dear sister of the late Louise, Raymond, Leo, and Margaret "Peggy" Lamothe.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Friday, January 9th from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11am at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, 111 Winn Street, Burlington. Burial will follow in Pine Haven Cemetery.
