Elaine Rautenberg, age 82, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2026, with her loving sister and dear friends by her side.

Born on January 29, 1944, she was one of two daughters to the late Charles G. and Angie (Gaitanis) Mirageas. Elaine graduated from Roslindale High School with the Class of 1962. She went on to begin her career with the John Hancock Insurance Company, initially working in the typing pool. Throughout her 40 years with the company, Elaine worked diligently and earned numerous promotions to positions of greater responsibility, reflecting her dedication and strong work ethic.

Elaine loved the beach and held a special affection for Cape Cod, and the beautiful beaches there. Being near the water brought her a sense of peace and contentment. She also enjoyed gardening and reading in her free time. She was also an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church senior group.

Elaine was deeply proud of her Greek heritage and cherished opportunities to celebrate her culture with family and friends. She especially enjoyed attending Greek festivals and had a deep-rooted appreciation for Greek traditions, culture, and cuisine.

Surviving Elaine is her loving sister, Georgiann Koutrouba and her late husband Jim; her Goddaughter, Stacey Yarvoski, as well as many other dear cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, October 26th from 10 am until 10:45 am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn. Her Funeral Service will begin at the Church at 11 am. Burial will be held at 2:30 pm at Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery, W. Roxbury. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine’s honor may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd., Centerville, MA 02632.
