Diane Valente, age 68, passed away peacefully at Community Hospice House on September 19, 2026, following a brief illness.

Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was one of seven children to the late Louis and Marion (Lavoie) Valente. Diane grew up in Burlington and graduated with the Burlington High School Class of 1976. She later earned her associate degree in nursing and took great pride in her time as a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse.

Diane found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors. A deeply creative person, Diane loved drawing, ceramics and exploring a variety of artistic pursuits. She was an exceptionally talented hairdresser and colorist, who gained her mastery studying coloring techniques in Canada. 

As a young person, she was an adventurous spirit, having owned and enjoyed her own motorcycle. She was an accomplished home chef with a gift for presentation, capable of perfecting any recipe by adding that finishing touch with a beautifully garnished plate. Among her fondest memories were the trips to Bermuda and Aruba with her loving and dedicated partner Lenny. 

Her family will always remember and treasure the fun family times at Sugarbush and in Florida. She was a loving and devoted daughter, and companion, who cared deeply for those she loved and held close. She was compassionate in helping to care for her mother and grandmother alongside her siblings during their times of need.

Diane had a special affection for all creatures, her beloved cats, Mia and AWOL, held a particularly cherished place in her heart. Diane devoted herself to caring for others with tenderness and patience. Her gentle spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Diane are her siblings, Louis Valente and his partner Judy Sorensen of Burlington, Marianne Valente of N. Billerica, the late Steven Valente and his wife Laurie Valente of Dracut, the late Richard Valente, Carol O’Hearn and her late husband Michael of Billerica, and Susan Stanton of Westford; her adoring partner Lenny Waters of Nashua; her step-mother Jeanne Valente of Weston and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, all services will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Diane’s honor may be made to Humane Society for Greater Nashua at 24 Ferry Rd, Nashua, NH 03064.
