Claire Kneeland, a loving mother and beloved wife, passed away on July 31st at the age of 93. Claire grew up in Cambridge with her parents Thomas and Mary O'Connor. Claire was a proud life-long resident of Cambridge. She was a graduate of Cambridge High Latin . Claire's home was her pride and joy. She had an open door policy, and all friends were treated as family. The home was around the corner from fresh pond, where the kids vividly remember sledding in the winters. When outside the house, Claire could be found traveling down to Florida to escape the cold, or traveling to Nantasket Beach in the summer time to stay at the family cottage.

Claire will be remembered for her kindness. She always treated others with the utmost respect, though she had a feisty side that came out when it had to. She was fiercely independent, driving until she was 90. Claire lived a full life, and will be deeply missed by many.

Claire was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Kneeland. She was the loving mother of Frederick Kneeland Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Billerica, Gail Kneeland of Cambridge, Susan McDonald and her husband Joseph of Weymouth, Scott Kneeland of Cambridge, and the late Carol Kneeland. Claire was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was the dear sister of many brothers and sisters.

Claire's life will be celebrated with a memorial visitation on Saturday, August, 5 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803. A memorial service will begin at noon at the funeral home with a burial at Cambridge Cemetery, 89 Coolidge Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138 at a later date.
