Anthony J. Albano, 47, died on July 9, 2026, surrounded by his family after a short but devastating illness.
Born on June 25, 1979, to Jeremiah Albano and Phyllis Collins, Anthony was raised in Stoneham, Massachusetts, alongside his younger brother and best friend, Robert Albano, and cousins who were more like brothers. He graduated from Stoneham High School in 1997 before earning his degree from Westfield State University in 2001.
Anthony dedicated his professional life to his family's business, Bay State Sweeping and Construction of Chelsea, where he proudly served as President. He was deeply committed to the company and took great pride in helping lead and grow the business alongside his family.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Suzanne Kelley, and their daughter, Lydia, who was the center of his world. Anthony and Suzanne shared a partnership built on the deepest friendship, unwavering trust, and love. A devoted father, Anthony could often be found doing school pickups, taking Lydia to their newfound shared passion of mixed martial arts, or cooking for his family. In the winter, he was happiest chasing Suzanne and Lydia down the mountain in search of fresh powder or, when they inevitably outlasted him, waiting for them at the lodge with a drink and a smile.
More than anything, Anthony was a caretaker. Whoever needed him, he was there without hesitation. His late mother-in-law, Elaine Kelley, described him simply and perfectly: "He always shows up." Anthony lived with generosity, loyalty, and a quiet willingness to put others before himself.
If Anthony wasn't with his family, there was a good chance you could find him on a golf course. Golf was far more than a hobby. It was where some of his closest friendships were forged and countless memories were made. His Tuesday Night Golf group was where he honed his game while sharing endless laughter, spirited competition, and camaraderie.
Anthony's loss is felt not only by his family, but by a remarkable community of lifelong friends who became family. A passionate Boston sports fan, he also leaves behind his fantasy football league, The Danny Downer Velcro Sneakers, a wonderfully mismatched group whose year-round friendship and spirited banter were among the great constants in his life.
Those who knew Anthony best will forever picture him wearing his signature crooked smirk, a wry grin that hinted he was either about to make you laugh or had just gotten away with something. Though gone far too soon, it brings comfort to those who loved him to imagine him now where he was happiest: golf club in his hand, a crooked smile on his face, while standing on a course overlooking the ocean.
Anthony is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nicole Kelley Coslov, and her husband, Nicholas Coslov, of New York City, NY, and by Thomas Kelley Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Westport, CT. along with many loving family members, lifelong friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours on Wednesday, July 15, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington. His funeral service will begin on Thursday, July 16, at 9 am from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Veronica’s Parish in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.
