Alycia Ann Moniuk passed away following an accident on June 28, 2026.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Alycia was the beloved daughter of Stephen Moniuk of Burlington, Massachusetts, and the late Ann Marie Moniuk. She was the cherished sister of Stephanie Moniuk of Burlington and was formerly married to Brendan Mercure.
Known for her outgoing, vivacious spirit, Alycia had an infectious energy that drew people to her. She embraced life with enthusiasm, loved to travel, and never missed an opportunity to explore somewhere new. She was fiercely loyal to the people she loved and was especially grateful for her lifelong circle of best friends affectionately known as "The Tatas." Their decades of friendship, adventures, laughter, and unconditional love were a treasured part of her life.
Alycia graduated with honors from New York University, where she earned a double major in psychology and dance. Dance was a lifelong passion that brought her tremendous joy and creative expression. She lived in New York City for many years, a place she truly loved and where her vibrant personality flourished. She also embraced life on the West Coast during her years in California, always eager to experience new places and new adventures.
Her adventurous spirit was perhaps best illustrated by the cross-country trip she made with her sister in a moving truck, navigating the journey with nothing more than a AAA TripTik and a couple of flip phones. Santa Fe was a highlight of the journey, as was St. Louis, where they managed to score World Series tickets under fairly questionable circumstances and witness the Red Sox reverse the curse.
Alycia especially cherished a more recent trip to Mexico, where she fulfilled a dream of helping release newly hatched sea turtles into the ocean. A devoted cat mom and lifelong animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for all creatures and found great joy in their companionship.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, generous heart, adventurous spirit, boundless enthusiasm, and the laughter and love she shared so freely with family and friends. Though her life ended far too soon, the memories she created and the joy she brought to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, Massachusetts. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family.
